2006 IN REVIEW

As we gracefully brought the three aircraft to rest at Bar River Ontario for their winter storage and maintenance, we thanked our lucky Northern stars for another safe season. Our 2006 season of course was full of ups & downs, with a banner season for fantastic weather, fine fishing, fun staff, and of course fabulous guests. We declared with delight, it's been a wonderful ride. We feel we have been in the entertainment industry for 26 years. Some weekends as we move loads of gear and guests, we feel it is one of the best shows under the big skies of Northern Ontario.

We know that many of you as well as ourselves were concerned about the fuel prices in 2006. We also had our fuel discussions and how this would impact our bottom line. We did talk to other operators in our area and they added a surcharge to their fee in 2006. We held our rates in 2006, but we have increased our rates for most fly-inns by $40 Canadian funds. We are taking a course called Cost Cutting 101 to keep this adventure affordable.

For our US customers the US dollar was still a premium of between 8-15% for the 2006 season. It is hovering just under 14% as we write this letter. Our operation continues to be in Canadian Funds, so at the current rate of exchange, look at our prices as if they were in US Dollars, and this will include your taxes. Add a fishing license and your ready to get out there!

2007 OUTLOOKS!

We would like to invite (new and past) guests to come North for the 2007 season. A great Northern Ontario Adventure awaits you.!
" We will operate 21 fly- inn outpost adventures.
" The Drive Inn lodge on Ivanhoe Lake called the Ivanhoe River Inn, our headquarters will offer overnights, meals for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays, and a Housekeeping Plan Package. We are hoping our American Plan package guests from the Inn can convert to our Housekeeping Plan or take the flight into Nemegosenda Lake Lodge for what we think is a fantastic fishing experience.
" Our Boat-Inn cabins on the Ivanhoe River are again offered at a bargain price. We feature electric start four stroke 15 horsepower engines that are great running and fuel-efficient.
" Nemegosenda Lake Lodge will be offering American Plan packages and a very up-scale Housekeeping Plan Package.

The 2007 brochure has more new photos, our guests the photographers, were inspired by their beautiful surroundings. And the fact that many of them are holding beautiful fish is just an added bonus.!

NEWS FLASH…
Coming by car you do not need a passport for 2007. So get Grandpa out of the house and go fishin! We have marveled at the health of George Sr. 86 ish, "a day of fishing adds two to your life." George Sr. fishes frequently and claims this is his recipe for legendary health.
We reopened Paypeeshek Lake in 2006, it saw only 20 guests for the season so if you are looking for an action packed Northern Pike lake this will be a great choice!
Katagi & Atekepi Lake have been moved to fly on a Sunday-Sunday schedule instead of Friday. Many of our guests requested this schedule and it also fits well with our flight schedule.
Our goal in 2007 is to streamline the operation, and focus on the core part of our business, which is the fly-inns. The Ivanhoe River Inn will continue to make your vacation easier with available bait, ice, tackle, great gifts, outfitting store, art gallery, overnight accommodations, and great food on the weekends.
This year we will be operating Nemegosenda Lake Lodge for the complete 2007 season. So pick your dates, we will be opening May 19th and stay open until Sept 22nd. Last year the fishing was great, and all the guests on American Plan Packages raved about the great food and service. And with our up-scale Housekeeping Plan you'll enjoy not hauling and handling so much stuff plus your bait will be included.
